Biovitas Supplies Renewable Energy to Biokraft in Mönsterås

In the agriculture-rich region of Mönsterås, Biokraft is constructing a new facility for producing biogas based on locally sourced manure. Biokraft will use this facility to supply liquefied biogas to fuel stations, industries, the maritime sector, and major European energy companies. The facility will also produce bio-fertilizer to support sustainable local agriculture.

Biovitas will act as the energy supplier, providing heat energy for upgrading raw biogas to liquefied Bio-LNG. This heat energy will be generated in a customized bioenergy plant, scheduled for completion in Q1 2025.

“We are proud to have earned the trust to design, construct, and, in the next phase, deliver long-term energy solutions for Biokraft,” says Malte Zaunders, CEO of Biovitas.

Biovitas’ approach includes responsibility for everything from design to construction and long-term operation of the bioenergy plant, which in this case will be a 4 MW wood-chip boiler.

“We chose Biovitas for their innovative approach to problem-solving and the trust we’ve developed with their team,” says Michael Olausson, VP of Growth at Biokraft.

“Many industries face the challenge of transitioning from fossil fuels to renewables in their processes but often lack the resources to select the right solution, fund construction, and manage long-term operations. This is where our team offers a complete solution with expertise in design, financing, construction, and seamless operation of energy plants. “In our continued partnership with Biokraft, we aim to further develop our concept to better leverage elements of Biokraft’s biogas production, enhancing circularity and environmental benefits,” concludes Malte.
